Playing God is never an easy thing to do. And even more so when your minions are cute… and helpless.
Enter Wobbles. The adorable game, a first for the Play Nimbus team (which also features former Pixelitis writer Michael Flood), features little Wobbles or little creatures that jump and slide across platforms with the aid of “technologies,” such as fire and water. Its your job to help them collect stars, advance through eras and make sure they don’t perish. The Android and iOS side scroller is riddled with challenges on all levels. And strangely cute tiny cavemen.
For as adorable as they are, these Wobbles are awfully dependent on you to place things like fires or fountains to help them slide and jump onto platforms. And you are their god, making sure they get enough fire to jump high and water to slide into places they need to be. Your job as protector is to place these “technologies” to ensure that the Wobbles get stars for you to advance in levels, and survive in one piece. You have to get all five Wobbles across the platform in one piece.
The game is also an unofficial spiritual successor to the oft mentioned Lemmings, where you also guide other “humanoids” through landscapes–but with a trickier pursuit in mind. As the Wobbles wobble through the landscape, you pick up additional technologies such as the stone slab, which allows for you to fine tune the stream forward but with more finite obstacles in the way. And other eras, such as the Roman Era, where your Wobbles are dressed up in Roman garb befitting of even great Caesar himself.
Directing these little Wobbles to safety is no small feat. For as godly as you are (and you are godly, because you can put fire on water) these wee cavemen disappear in a poof of smoke if you let them fall too far or into the water. And it is frustrating when you end up directing those Wobbles in the wrong direction or to their untimely demise. I shake my fist at Michael Flood for making the levels so difficult.
